I think I've worked with that guy before! You know what it was lacking? 2 things: A sense of superiority on the part of the librarian (because the fact that he is a librarian automatically means he knows better than the patron), and a sense of demanding self righteousness from the patron as soon as he told her he was unable to help. If those 2 things were included it would be like I've lived it.

One other thing... how come men make up only 20% of librarians, but they chose a man to offer an example of how not to provide good reference service? This isn't the first time I've seen this. In school we watched similar videos that had men in the position of bad servicer providers. I wonder how the percentages of patrons that seek assistance break down by gender?
